Finding you therapy

“Some people around you will not understand your journey. They don’t need to; it’s not for them.”

– Paulo Coelho

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is David and I am an integrative therapist. I offer a safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore the range of feelings and emotions that you are experiencing.

I believe that we all have a deep need to be understood and validated for who we truly are. The feeling that another human being gets it, is a feeling that is all too rare. Without it, our lives can become overwhelming, unfulfilling, confusing, frustrating and painful.

It can be enormously helpful to share your thoughts and feelings with someone who offers compassion as well as safely containing your emotions, helping you to process what you are going through.

I am experienced in working with clients facing challenges such as bereavement and loss, depression, anxiety, relationships issues, low self-worth, shame and identity issues. I am fully insured with professional and public insurance liability. I am also a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and also an accredited member of the NCPS (National counselling and psychotherapy society). Giving you the assurance and peace of mind that the service I provide is ethical, responsible, professional and safe for you.

I offer a free 10 minute session for you ask any questions you may have, explore briefly what challenges you are facing and to see if counselling is something that would meet your needs. I would love the opportunity to work alongside you, offering you the insight and support in your time of need.

I offer a quiet, confidential and peaceful setting with complimentary tea/coffee or fresh water. There is parking available at the front of the property.

My counselling services are based in the north west of England in Sandymoor, Cheshire (in between Warrington and Runcorn). Where a warm and accepting welcome awaits you.

“I pay no attention whatsoever to anybody’s praise or blame. I simply follow my own feelings.” — Mozart

My Practice

I offer face to face, video and telephone counselling sessions to suit your needs or preferences

Experience:

I have a number of years experience in working with clients who present anxiety, identity issues, low self worth, shame, depression, relationship issues and also bereavement and loss. The approaches I use are Person-centred therapy, Cognitive behavioural therapy, Solution focused therapy and Psychodynamic therapy. I also like to make use of metaphors to bring an awareness to your situation, and to help explore an alternative perspective on your current thinking.

I have been counselling clients at the Delamere centre at Halton hospital for 2 years, offering support to clients who have been diagnosed with cancer or family members who need support through the challenges of a loved ones diagnosis. I have also volunteered at a local community services in widnes where clients presented issues such as anger, addiction and bereavement. My other volunteer work was spent at the samaritans branch in warrington as a listening volunteer for 3 years. I also provide counselling support with several EAP services (including Health Assured and OneBright mental health services). Alongside this I have a flourishing private counselling practice where I offer a compassionate approach towards discovering your authentic self-worth, clarity of thought and self-esteem.

Being real and authentic with another person can be extremely scary. However, gradually sharing your true feelings with a trusted person can be the beginnings of finding out who you truly are. This can be a difficult journey of self discovery but one of the most valuable and beautiful things you will ever do for yourself.
