Using a variety of therapeutic approaches, I offer a space to hear your truth with no judgement or agenda. This allows a gradual movement towards our authentic self and begin to heal the dented and damaged parts of ourselves.

Anxiety, depression, anger, low self-worth and bereavement to name a few are real issues that require time and compassion to obtain balance to restore ourselves. This balance can be achieved with a trusted therapist who can support you through your pain, suffering and confusion. Therapy requires trust, honesty and sometimes courageously looking and challenging our perspectives.

Why not get in touch, I offer a free 10 minute session to see what challenges you are experiencing, and I will walk you through what happens next if you decide counselling would be a fit for you. I would love the opportunity to work with you.

What I offer

FAQs

  • Counselling may feel like a daunting prospect, but I will do my upmost to make sure you feel safe and comfortable. The first thing that will happen is I will introduce myself and briefly describe what counselling is. We will then go through the counselling contract to ensure your happy with everything. I will then ask you ‘where would you like to begin’. The sessions will last for 50 minutes and roughly 5 minutes before the end I will tell you that the session will be ending shortly.

I too have had counselling, so I know whats its like to be the client. Hopefully this has reassured you about what to expect in your first session. I look forward to meeting and working with you.

  • This is a question I often get asked, and the answer varies depending on your personal needs. Counselling can provide you with insights and perspectives that you simply cannot access from your own thinking.

People will have some resistance to change, and there is often good reason for this, due to our upbringing, abuse or unpleasant experiences. However, without looking at our deeper self with a trusted and competent other, we cannot move forward to where we want to be.

After a number of sessions we will discuss how/if the sessions are helping. This will continue throughout the subsequent sessions to make sure that you are getting the very best out of counselling. I always encourage my clients to ask any questions you may have, I am in service to you and want you to be in a place where you can feel free to express yourself and find the authentic you.

  • This question is all down to personal preference to you. I personally feel as a counsellor, that face to face sessions are more beneficial, as being present with another can evoke something very unique.

However, please don’t discount video and telephone calls, as they can equally provide a very meaningful and healing experience towards change and growth.

  • Counselling sessions are usually once per week. However, due to time or financial commitments, sessions can be arranged fortnightly or even monthly. I will work around your needs and personal situation.

However, to get the very best outcomes from counselling, regular weekly sessions are advised to create personal development and healthy change.

If there are any other questions you would like me to answer, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.
